I have a BTEC National Diploma in Equine studies
BHS Stages 1+2
PTT

For the past two years i have taught at a local riding school of ages ranging from 4yrs - 70yrs

I do a variety of lessons:

• Flat work
• Pole work
• Jumping
• Grid work
• Lead rein
• Lung

I believe that when your riding or doing anything with horses it should be a partnership between you and you horse, you both enjoy each others company and when riding it should be a chore or a battle it should be enjoyable and team work, you should want the horse to try for you.
I base my way of teaching very much on the fact that both horse and rider are unique and that every one horse/rider learns differently.

I also do ground work building up a bond with you and your horse, you should both have respect for each other and simple ground work is great for building up your relationship and can be used to help improve manners e.g a horse that pulls when being lead, it is not acceptable, but neither is smacking you horse when it does as it does not learn anything except that it gets a bad reaction.

I am great with shy, nervous and sensitive horses, I have had experience with very nervous and trouble horses. I am very patient and understanding and I wait for the horse, I don’t rush or make the horse feel uncomfortable and make them want to be with you, to want your partnership and company.

I also school horse/ponies young or old they are never to old to learn something new. However horses learn at different speeds and to get the best out of your horse/pony you need to give them time to accept and understand what your asking.

Private Lessons:

• 30 mins £20
• 1 hr £30

Semi private Lessons:  

• 30 mins £15 per person
• 1 hr £22 per person

• 20 mins £10

Lunge Lesson:

• 20 mins £10

Schooling:

• 30 mins £15
• 45 mins £20

Remember to take into consideration your horses fitness level and age when deciding how long you want the schooling session. Schooling sessions can go up to an hour please ring or contact me for more details.
